About Vision 2060
A Humanity-Based World Model
For the People. By the People.
About Vision 2060
Vision 2060 is an open initiative exploring how humanity can progressively build a more meaningful, fulfilling, and sustainable future centered on human well-being.
It brings together ideas, research, evidence, questions, surveys, and perspectives to help develop a Humanity-Based World Model (HBW) — a framework for exploring how society, technology, institutions, and other systems can better serve humanity.
Vision 2060 does not begin with the assumption that all the answers are already known. It begins with questions, listens to different perspectives, examines evidence, and develops ideas that can be tested, discussed, refined, or reconsidered over time.
Why Vision 2060?
Humanity has achieved extraordinary advances in knowledge, science, technology, communication, and productivity. Yet many fundamental questions about human life and our collective future remain.
How can progress translate into better lives for people?
How should rapidly advancing technologies serve humanity?
How can systems and institutions evolve as human needs and capabilities change?
How can we protect human dignity while recognizing different beliefs, cultures, experiences, and perspectives?
How can today’s progress remain sustainable for the planet and future generations?
Vision 2060 provides a space to explore these questions systematically and collectively.
The objective is not to prescribe a predetermined future, but to continually examine what may help humanity move toward a better one.
A Humanity-Based World Model
At the center of Vision 2060 is the Humanity-Based World Model (HBW).
HBW is a developing framework for examining society and its systems from a fundamental perspective:
How can they better support meaningful human life and well-being?
The framework can explore areas such as human well-being, technology, institutions, economic and social systems, communities, the environment, and future generations.
HBW is not intended to be a fixed ideology or final blueprint. It is a living framework that can evolve as knowledge improves, new technologies emerge, circumstances change, and people contribute new evidence, questions, experiences, and perspectives.
Our Mission
To help make life on Earth the most meaningful, fulfilling, and sustainable journey possible for every human being — from birth to death — through collective wisdom, ethical innovation, and global collaboration.
How Vision 2060 Develops
Vision 2060 develops through an ongoing process of exploration and learning.
This is an ongoing process. Conclusions do not have to be permanent. New evidence, changing circumstances, or better ideas may strengthen, modify, or replace earlier thinking.
For the People, By the People
Vision 2060 is intended to be open to everyone.
People from different countries, professions, cultures, generations, beliefs, and experiences may see the same question differently. Those differences can provide valuable information rather than something that must automatically be eliminated.
Surveys and other forms of participation can help identify areas of agreement, disagreement, uncertainty, and questions that deserve deeper exploration.
Where perspectives differ, Vision 2060 can help make relevant knowledge, evidence, and different considerations available so people can explore the issue and form their own conclusions.
The goal is not to tell people what to think. It is to create a better process for thinking, learning, and building together.
How Vision 2060 Began
Vision 2060 was publicly introduced on April 12, 2025, as an open initiative designed to grow through research, questions, ideas, surveys, discussion, and participation.
It emerged from a fundamental question:
How can humanity use its growing knowledge, technology, and collective capabilities to make human life more meaningful, fulfilling, and sustainable?
From the beginning, the approach was not to present a finished model, but to establish a framework that could develop progressively through knowledge, research, ideas, questions, and participation while keeping humanity at the center.
Looking Toward 2060
The year 2060 represents a long-term horizon.
Vision 2060 is not based on the expectation that humanity can design a perfect future today. Society, technology, knowledge, and human needs will continue to change.
The approach is therefore progressive:
Understand today.
Explore and develop better approaches.
Learn from evidence and participation.
Refine the framework.
Continue building toward 2060.
The destination may evolve as humanity learns more. What remains constant is the commitment to keeping humanity and human well-being at the center of progress.
